RUMBU, a classically-trained countertenor, graduated from The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and was honored with the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club Scholarship. At the youthful age of 21, he showcased his exceptional talent by taking on the lead role of Giulio Cesare in Handel’s renowned masterpiece bearing the same name. While RUMBU’s roots lie in classical music, he harbors a deep passion for Jazz and Pop genres as well. Guided by the esteemed producer Mr. Chiu Tsang Hei, RUMBU has acquired professional skills in pop music production.
In 2019, RUMBU unveiled his inaugural digital single, “Do You Understand?” This track resonates with a captivating and distinctively effervescent sound, showcasing RUMBU’s remarkable androgynous vocal range. Recognizing his burgeoning talent, RUMBU has been invited to grace the stages of prominent events such as the Freespace Jazz Festival and the Hong Kong Pop Culture Festival, as well as various TV shows.
Recently, RUMBU collaborated with fellow artist Leo Keo and a host of other accomplished individuals to reimagine the beloved hit song “星戰” (Star Wars). This collaboration not only exemplifies RUMBU’s versatility but also introduces him to a broader spectrum of music enthusiasts and solidifies his position as an artist with widespread appeal.
